Jacob & Co and Cristiano Ronaldo launch a new watchmaking collab

World football (aka soccer) star Cristiano Ronaldo's brand CR7 and high-end jewelry and watchmaking brand Jacob & Co take their relationship to a higher level. After 20 years of friendship and patronage, their names come together on a watch collection celebrating Cristiano Ronaldo's success. The partnership gives birth to the Jacob & Co X CR7 Epic X Flight of CR7 and Heart of CR7. This initial collection is to be followed by entirely new designs. 

The first Jacob & Co X CR7 Epic X piece has been hand-delivered to Cristiano Ronaldo in person in Lisbon on November 18th, just before he left for the 2022 World Cup, in Qatar. The champion immediately started wearing his rose gold Flight of CR7 with a bezel set with 26 baguette-cut diamonds. 

Cristiano Ronaldo is a long-standing and close partner to Jacob & Co. He and Founder and Chairman Jacob Arabo have established a strong relationship based in trust and respect over the past twenty years. High watchmaking 

The Jacob & Co X CR7 Epic X collection is a profoundly personalized version of the Epic X. It has all its identity markers: a 44 mm case with X-shaped lugs, a smooth and polished or diamond-set bezel and a colored crown and flange. It's powered by one of Jacob & Co's most emblematic calibers. This skeleton movement offers a striking architecture. Its two vertical pillars form the central part of the X shape initiated by the lugs, whose entire design gave the name Epic X. 

A legend's image

In the Jacob & Co X CR7 Epic X collection, these two pillars are designed to represent Cristiano Ronaldo and the CR7 brand. The left pillar takes on the shape of Cristiano Ronaldo himself in various postures while the right one bears the CR7 logo and the man's hand-signature, both engraved in bold letters. The skeleton barrel cover is shaped like a football. Another image of Cristiano Ronaldo himself, wearing his iconic, lucky number 7 jersey, is printed on the caseback's tainted sapphire crystal. This first collection is based on the design of Jacob & Co's 2022 novelty, the Epic X V2. In the upcoming months, and throughout the 5-year span of this partnership, further developments with exclusive and all-new designs will be revealed. 

Full collection 

The series is available either in stainless steel or 18k rose gold, with a smooth bezel or one set with 26 baguette-cut white diamonds. The steel version is called Heart of CR7 and is available with a green flange, crown, caseback and strap. The rose gold edition, Flight of CR7, features a red theme. Red and green being the colors of the Portugal flag and national team, whose captain during the 2022 World Cup is no other than Cristiano Ronaldo.
